The Images Grid
This feature allows users to view, search and work with all the images in the database.
Individual Business-Objects can also show a version of this grid which accesses only images linked to an individual record
Admin Users and Developers note: Orixa adopts the idea that all Images for all data should be stored in a single data-table, with links from the data-record to the images via relational data-linkages, as in other parts of the system. This means all system-images are stored in one place, and makes management of the larger data required for images easier to do.
Images Grid Access |
Accessing The Images Grid From the "Extras" menu, click on the item shown in the image (1). The system asks you to enter a short piece of text to search for as part of the name of the stored image. This is done to avoid returning very large volumes of data unnecessarily. If you want to see all the records, leave the search blank, but be aware that retrieving thousands of images may take a long time. |

Features of the Images Grid
|
Images Grid Context Menu |
The images-grid context menu Right-clicking on the image opens a menu with some options. If the "Show Full size version of image" option is clicked, the larger image includes a longer context menu with more features. These include features to rotate, crop, delete and edit attributes of the selected image. |
Images Edit Form |
Images Edit Form Double-clicking on an image or selecting "Edit attributes of selected image" from the context menu opens a standard Orixa Edit Form for the images system-table. Here you can upload new versions of an image, export the image to a file on-disk, and update the data linked to the image.
|
Paste Image From Clipboard | Note that once you are viewing the edit window for an Images record, you can replace it either using the "Upload Image" or "Paste Image From Clipboard" choices in the Actions menu, as shown in the image on the left. Note that both of these actions will replace the existing image with a new one. |
How the "Search" feature of the Images Grid works
Search Text checks "Name", "Description" and "ContributedBy" Fields
When you enter image data you can add data to the "Name", "Description" and "ContributedBy" fields. When you enter text in the "Search Text" field and click "Refresh" Orixa will search these three fields for any occurance of the search text you have entered.
This allows quite a broad search of the Images table from this one window.
