Orixa Framework built-in data-entities: Comments, FileNotes, Images, Addresses, Email Addresses and Phones

Orixa contains a number of built-in data-entities, which exist to provide basic levels of functionality that are useful in any Orixa App. No programming is needed to add these to a new system, and all the functionality detailed here can be added to any BusinessObject you add to an App through simple settings.

It is often useful to be able to add semi-free-form data to a single record. For example adding a set of photos to a record of a product, or adding multiple comments to a record. Orixa includes simple, usable systems to link any record to free-form text (Comments), external files and documents stored on disk (FileNotes), images and pictures (Images) and key informational data such as Phone numbers, physical addresses and email addresses.

Adding a Comment or link to and external file (FileNote)

New Comments and FileNotes can be added from the "New Items" button in any Orixa Edit Form, as shown at 1., in the image.

Adding a linked image to a record

Adding images is done through a dedicated "Images" button at the end of the Edit Form menu.

This gives choices to add images from disk or clip-board, or to show the "ImagesGrid" for this record.

Phones, Addresses and EmailAddresses data-entities

If a data-table has been set to be linked to the Phones,  Addresses or EmailAddresses entities, the "Add new..." options will appear in the "New Items" menu as shown at 1. in the image.

Viewing Phones, Addresses, EmailAddresses, Comments and FileNotes

Once data is added to any of the linked entities, it can be viewed by clicking on the appropriate choice in the "Show Items" menu, as shown at 1., in the image.

Automatic display of Comments, Images and FileNotes in some Orixa App Components

Linked Comments, Images and FileNotes automatically appear at the bottom of any Edit-Form

Once Images, Comments and FileNotes are added to a record, a visual indication of the presence of these records is created through the "Items Bar" at the bottom of the screen, shown at 1., in the image.

The image shows a record with 2 comments, 1 file-note and 1 image

Linked Comments, Images and FIleNotes automatically appear in "Worksurfaces"

If a "worksurface" is created for your App, these same linkages are shown as "+" icons on the right-hand side of the record, as shown at 1., in the image.

Clicking on the "+" opens a visual presentation of the linked item. Clicking on these opens the edit-form, allowing the record to be edited.
